Meet Our Founder

Growing up in the heritage town of Ipoh, Muhammed Al-Qayyum followed the science stream throughout school and later in university. Yet, it was his deep-rooted passion for creative expression that truly shaped his journey.

Elementary School – Where It All Began

Being one of the few Malay students in a Chinese school, Qayyum found a unique way to connect with others. Multiplayer games were still not available back then, so he created the experience through imagination and turn-based gameplay using just physical books and pencils. Later, he monetized the game by offering power-ups and unlocking new maps. He didn’t stop there, he hand-drew comics into ongoing series, and even sold graphic erasers, candies and more.

At home, he explored video production by borrowing his mom’s Sony Ericsson phone and her MacBook and posted in Facebook and YouTube, and even created offline horror games to sell on game platforms. Always pushing the limits of his creativity, Qayyum eagerly explored the latest technology and tool into a creative playground.

High School – From Passion to Projects

What began as a hobby was quickly noticed by his teachers and turned into real opportunities. Qayyum worked alongside teachers as the go-to multimedia guy to conduct mentoring programs and team-building activities in and outside of school across Perak. Qayyum earned his first overseas flight, a holiday trip funded entirely from his money collected through those programs.

During school holidays, he didn’t slow down. He worked with local businesses to design and produce social media content, handling both graphic and video production. This early exposure to real-world clients not only helped him earn his own income but also gave him hands-on experience before he even graduated.

University - Partnering with Academia

By his first year studying computer science, he had already collaborated closely with university chancellors, directors, and professors. Working as a paid vendor to provide professional multimedia services for university projects and industry leaders like Microsoft and Oracle. His contributions earned him coverage in the news and on national television, as well as the title of the university’s Entrepreneurial Icon.

Qayyum also shares his experience through webinars and workshops, having collaborated with over 20 institutions across Malaysia. His sessions focus on practical strategies for creative content, digital marketing, and AI tools, designed to help young creators and students succeed.

Maq Creative – From Freelance to Agency

From his mom's Sony Ericsson to fully equipped production gear, Qayyum gradually upgraded his equipment through freelance creative content projects, KOL hosting with Lazada, and conducting workshops.

After a few years of working with clients from various industries like healthcare, law, engineering, and academia to provide creative content, Qayyum learned the importance of not just creating, but delivering real value. This insight led him to integrate digital marketing and AI tools into his skill set, leveraging his science background to build data-driven strategies that deliver measurable returns on investment.

Making Ideas Work in the Real World

Today, Qayyum continues to lead with a unique blend of art and science. He helps companies tell their stories and achieve impactful online growth through strategy, technology and creativity.
